I have my first question lol I have just changed job's and the new company has a nakamura - tome AS-200 and they use a X- 10.335" offset in the drills would I be right in thinking that if I put a X+10.335" in the G54 it will make the drills offset X0. 0

I'm guessing the offset is to compensate for the tool holders and if you change the x offset in G54 you could have the drills offset x0,0 but that would move the offset of every other tool as well.

I'd start by setting the machine correctly so the drill collet etc is clocked to x0.0 that's just lazy setting

That's what they've done by changing the offset for the tools in question.

G0 G54 X0 will hit the center of the piece because of the offset.
